Royal Enfield’s 450 Lineup Expansion

Royal Enfield has officially launched the 2026 update for the Guerrilla 450, headlined by a new, road-biased Apex variant. While the core Sherpa 452cc powertrain remains unchanged, the 2026 updates focus on ergonomic refinement, tire technology, and software-driven feature sets across three distinct variants: Apex, Dash, and Flash.

The Guerrilla 450 Apex: Ergonomic and Mechanical Revisions

The Apex variant is positioned as a sportier, more aggressive iteration of the standard roadster. While it retains the 43mm telescopic forks, the primary technical shifts are:

  • Revised Rider Triangle: The Apex introduces a new aluminum handlebar that is 56mm lower and 57mm further forward than the standard unit. This creates a more “committed” weight-forward stance compared to the neutral, upright position of the base model.
  • Tire Specification: Moving away from the CEAT Gripp XL found on the standard variants, the Apex comes factory-fitted with Vredestein Centauro ST tires. These are dual-compound, road-biased tires designed to improve dry grip by 8% and wet grip by 17% over the previous stock configuration.
  • Aerodynamics & Aesthetics: The Apex includes a standard headlamp cowl and a removable pillion seat cowl to achieve a café-racer silhouette.

2026 Feature Updates Across the 450 Range

The entire Guerrilla lineup sees a significant “Quality of Life” update for 2026:

  • Ride Mode Retention: A firmware update to the EMS now includes a memory function. The bike will now default to the last selected ride mode (Sport or Street) upon ignition, eliminating the need to manually toggle modes after every engine cycle.
  • Optimized Tripper Dash: The 4-inch TFT display has received a software patch to improve Google Maps mirroring. The update addresses previous thermal issues by allowing the navigation to persist even when the connected smartphone’s screen is off (currently Android only).
